Sept. 18, 2010    BRAVE COMBO
Concert dance in Strasburger Hall by Grammy-winning Texas band with music incorporating dance styles and a sense of humor (polka, rumba, cha-cha-cha, choro, samba, two-step, cumbia, charanga, merengue, etc.).
Founded by Carl Finch (guitar/keyboard /accordion),  Brave Combo has been a prominent fixture in the Texasmusic scene for more than twenty-five years, often playing covers of well-known songs in styles radically different from  originals, such as polka versions of Jimi Hendrix's "Purple Haze" and The Doors' "People are Strange," The Rolling Stones' "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" as a cha-cha, and "Sixteen Tons" as a cumbia.
