Ceramics with Marilyn Ritchie
on Tuesday evenings

Date: Tuesdays Jan. 17- Feb 14th
Time: 6:30-8:30PM
Cost per student: $145 which includes clay, glazes and 2 firings. 

Level: beginner-advanced

 

These classes are for beginner through intermediate clay students. In these classes Marilyn will teach techniques in hand building such as pinch pots, coil building and slab building.  The class sessions are five weeks long, meeting on Tuesday evenings.  Sign up for one or all and make your life full of handmade originals.  In time, students can advance to throwing on the wheel.  

 

Advanced level students are welcome to create/work independently if they prefer.  5 pottery wheels are available for use in the studio, if you have prior experience and wish to work independently.  Take home something beautiful for use in your home or as a gift for someone special.

Beginner Ceramics with Lindsay Gabriel on Thursday afternoons

Instructor: Lindsay Gabriel
Date: Available on Tuesdays or Thursdays 

Time:1:00 PM-3:00 pm

Ages: 13 and up

Cost: $125  includes clay, glazes and firings

Level: Beginner to intermediate

Students will learn how to create a gnome and a variety of functional and artistic projects using slab and hand building techniques.  Students have made spoon rests, cracker/appetizer trays, bowls, home decor and so much more.  Once they are bisque fired, they will learn how to glaze their work.  This class is 4 Thursday sessions long.  We will create the first 3 sessions and glaze all work on week 4.  All student work will then be fired and available for pick up within 2 weeks.

 

Maximum of 8 students

Time: 6:00 PM-8:00 PM

Ages: 18 and up

Cost: $145  includes clay, glazes and firings

Level: intermediate to advanced  Previous clay experience is helpful for this class. 

Over 5 weeks, students can learn how to create a variety of functional and artistic projects using slab and hand building techniques.  Students can make plates, bowls, holiday decorations, home decor and so much more.  Once the clay is bisque fired, they will learn how to glaze their work.  Bring your ideas and let’s get creative!

 

Each week, Lindsay will provide sample projects and ideas for creating.  Advanced level students are welcome to create/work independently if they prefer.  5 Wheels are available for use in the studio, if you have prior experience and wish to work independently. However, this class session will be primarily focused on slab building.

Pottery Workshop

Introduction to Wheel Throwing with Jeremy Haynes on Wednesdays

Instructor: Jeremy Haynes
Date: Wednesdays March 1-April 5th

with no class March 15th

2:00 PM-4:30 pm or 6:00-8:30 PM

Ages: 18 and up

Cost per student: $145 which includes clay, glazes and 2 firings. 

Level: All levels of proficiency are welcome

Jeremy Haynes is the co-owner of Sugarhill Mudworks, a small batch pottery in Northeast Texas. In this 5 week ceramics class, learn how to throw and trim functional ceramic pieces to incorporate into sculptures. Work can be thrown and then altered. With 5 wheels available in the CAC studio, this class will be limited to a 5 students max.
