CTAL artists are making connections within the community to serve the needs of several agencies.   Here's how:
1.  Helping raise funds for local food pantries--
Through the making and selling of SOUPER BOWLS, these artists are donating time and talent so that you can learn about playing with clay, make a bowl or buy a bowl.   Bowls will go on sale in September and October but you can come learn about making bowls on Tuesdays with a CTAL artist OR PLAN A SOUPER BOWL PARTY (see the adult class offereings on this website).

2.  Helping raise funds for victims of family violence to be safe--
An upcoming exhibit for birdhouses (June) will feature fanciful birdhouses for sale in the Carabasi Gallery.  The proceeds will benefit the Cultural Activities Center and Families in Crisis, Inc. which operates two shelters in Bell county for the benefit of victims of family violence.  You can support both the CAC and Families in Crisis with the purchase of one of the birdhouses.   Bird houses created by local artists are currently on sale in the gallery.   With your $65 purchase of a bird house, $50 of the sales proceeds go directly to Families in Crisis, Inc., as a donation from the Cultural Activities Center and you.

3.  Working toward sharing the creative process with local youth--
CTAL artists also volunteer to support programming at the Cultural Activities Center aimed at youth who might never have experienced the sense of accomplishment possible in visual and performing arts.   These artists assist with teaching and designing projects for local groups and for the benefit of local school districts.  Plus CTAL members are taking art to children who cannot come to the CAC such as the Teen Council at McLane Children's Hospital.
Anyone can join the fun and be a part of this group.  Come see what is happening at the CAC.
